Happy 1 Week Birthday...

Emmett is officially one week old today. I know that all parents say this but I cannot believe how fast it has gone. Crazy! In order to celebrate this wonderful day I have decided to post all of the pictures Ryan and I have been taking on our phones. There is no order to these pictures just random moments captured. Posting our cell phone pictures may need to become a regular thing on this blog because we take a lot of pictures with our phones. :) Enjoy!

They all look the same...

So when Emmett was born we all decided he looked like Ryan (the wrinkly forehead is a dead giveaway!) however upon further investigation we are finding that he may have a slight resemblance to me. My mom found some newborn pictures of me and the similarities are undeniable. I now have a new theory...all newborns look alike! Ryan and I are generic white, brown hair, brown eyed people, how unique can this kid possibly look? I don't think we will know who he looks like for at least a month but you can judge for yourself. Below are two pictures of Emmett and the pictures of me...I am confident you will come to the same conclusion I have. :)

The due date has come and gone...

I fully anticipated a blog post with this title in order to let everyone know that the baby had not arrived and the overdue waiting game had begun. I am SO thrilled not to write that post! Instead of being impatient and a little annoyed yesterday, we got to experience day four with our little guy and it was wonderful. He spent some time in the sling for the first time and loved it, as well as ventured back to the big bad pediatrician, we had his jaundice looked at and everything is great. March 28th was the day we had been looking forward to for 9 months and it was a little odd to finally see it come and go but we could not be happier that it came and went and Emmett is here.

One quick note: I have changed the "ticker" that is on the right side of the blog to count how old our little one is...it is hard to believe it has already been 5 days, I fear is first birthday is around the corner.

Speaking of birthdays, a quick big HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY! to big boy Joshua Emerson. I can't believe that Jon and Amy have a one year old! Congrats Mom and Dad, you had one amazing year and I am so looking forward to years of friendship with you and years of friendship between Joshua and Emmett. Love you guys and I can't wait to see you.

Uncle E took a bunch of "family photos". He did a great job but I hated the way I looked in all of them. I hate this one the least so it made the blog. The plan was to put on one the birth announcement...it did not happen.

I also hate this picture of me but I LOVE the look of Ryan's face.

Boy #3 has arrived!

At 1:16am on March 24th (4 days early and a big surprise to his parents) Emmett Daniel Hovey arrived at The Birthing Inn after 24 hours and 16 minutes of labor. He weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces and measured 22 inches long, again a surprise to his parents, we were not expecting him to be so big! Below is a bunch of pictures of his arrival, visitors and first few days in this world. Enjoy!
