Lesson learned

Emmett is now tall enough to reach his highchair tray and pull things off. Leaving a bowl of Cherrios on the tray while getting his water is no longer an option. Got it ;)

My babies

Sometimes the similarities between my 17 month old skin kid and my 9 month old fur kid are scary. They have many similar interests and their number one favorite thing is in the world is their dad. They both adore him and often fight for his attention. Today, they had a shared interested, watch Dad mow the lawn. They stood at the window for the entire 20 minutes it took Ryan to mow the front yard. These two never cease to amuse me.
(and while Ryan was productive, I watched our kids be cute, took pictures, and wrote this blog post...seems fair) :)

Choo Choo

Emmett got a train conductors dress up set at a TPD event yesterday (pics from that are coming). He loves it and is currently still wearing as he plays in the living room.

Sneaky sneaky

I sat down to eat a delicious nectarine and an one year sneak crawled up onto my lap, batted his adorable eyes at me and ate my entire nectarine. Good thing this kid is so cute.

Second cousins at the zoo

On Saturday, my mom, dad, Emmett and I headed to the zoo to spend some time with my dad's cousin, Debbie and her family. The kids had a great time and it was wonderful to see family that we don't see often enough. Here are some pictures of all the fun.

16 months

Once again, I am a little late on getting these up on the blog but I figure better late then never. This is as good as it could be for 16 months. The last one is my favorite. My baby is looking more and more like a big kid every day.

A big thank you!

My wonderful parents watched Emmett (overnight) so Ryan and I could do the Goldfish Gallop ( a 5k race sponsored by Metro Parks and the Goldfish tavern). We ran, had drinks with friends and then headed to El Toro for a late night snack. It was the perfect date night. Sometimes I forget how important adult time is, especially with Boy #1. Thanks again Mom and Dad!

Movie Night at the Ballpark

The Hovey family had another fun evening out in T-town. Tonight we met some friends (there were some strangers there too) to watch The Rookie at Cheney Stadium. Honestly, there was not much movie watching going on but we had a great time. Ryan talked about how cool it was to be on the field, Emmett ran around and ate popcorn and I got to chat with other moms...it was a perfect summer evening. We can't wait for the next movie night!
